Good thoughts.... I think it's clear that the social web isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We've been starting to utilize online relationships with our members more often, with huge success. People are engaging in blog posts, talking about events on Facebook, etc.

The challenge for us right now is sustaining online interaction. Somebody needs to own it... it's hard for us with our current staffing, but we're trying. :)

Thanks Jake!
I love that information and resources are so readily accessible to people. I think that's a great tool. I do think though that people want to be connected and that need will drive them to places where they feel they are getting that. Churches have a great opportunity in that they can get out and connect where all their peeps are hanging.

"This is the information/interconnection age and people have access to the best resources instantaneously. So if your programs are actually not that interesting your audience will get the info elsewhere."

I hear what you are saying and agree but wonder if this is all that bad?
